Under the bright autumn sun of St. Louis, over 300 Black LGBTQIA+ youth from the U.S. and Caribbean convened for the Generation Next Forum, a three-day summit organized by Black Pride STL. It was part conference, part festival, and wholly revolutionary.

Austin’s evening sky glowed purple the night OutYouth unveiled its new initiative, Intersectional Futures. The program aims to empower Black LGBTQIA+ youth through storytelling, therapy circles, and leadership training that center race and queerness equally. Inside the organization’s modest community hall, rows of folding chairs filled with parents, teachers, and teens who came not just to listen—but to be seen.

At just 22 years old, Cebolenkosi Gcabashe, founder of G Khula Trading in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, won the Revenue Growth Award from the 2025 Anzisha Prize. The Anzisha Prize recognizes young African entrepreneurs who are building businesses with lasting impact, and Cebolenkosi’s growing enterprise is a perfect example.
